AC Milan and Inter Milan moved clear in Italy, Manchester City and Liverpool continue to win in England while Bayern Munich were crowned champions in style in Germany.

The top two pulled away with AC Milan getting past Lazio 2-1 after Sandro Tonali’s late goal. Inter Milan won 3-1 over AS Roma to maintain the pressure at the top.

Third-placed Napoli slipped off the pace after blowing a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 at Empoli. Juventus were due to play Sassuolo on Monday. Roma, Fiorentina and Lazio all lost. Down the bottom, Salernitana and Genoa beat Fiorentina and Cagliari respectively to breath life into their bids to avoid the drop.

Manchester City and Liverpool continue to win in the race for the title with Gabriel Jesus netting four goals in City’s 5-1 home victory over Watford. Liverpool managed to stay one point behind them with two second-half goals from Andy Robertson and Divock Origi getting them past rivals Everton 2-0. The Toffees are now in the drop zone.

Chelsea won 1-0 over West Ham United thanks to Christian Pulisic’s late strike shortly after Jorginho’s missed penalty to firm up their third spot. Arsenal claimed a critical 3-1 home win over Manchester United as Tottenham stumbled to a 0-0 draw with Brentford, putting the Gunners in the box seat for fourth spot.

Bayern Munich were crowned champions in the best way possible, beating their nearest rivals Borussia Dortmund 3-1, after first-half goals from Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski, before Jamaal Musiala’s 83rd minute strike sealed the win, with Emre Can having pulled one back from the spot on 52 minutes. The title was Bayern’s 32nd overall and 10th in a row.

Third-placed Bayer Leverkusen eased past bottom Greuther Furth 4-1, condemning them to relegation, with the victory moving Die Werkself back into third above RB Leipzig who were beaten 2-1 at home by Union Berlin who have won four in a row and sit sixth to be in the top-four race. SC Freiburg fought back from 2-0 down before conceding late to draw 3-3 with Borussia Moenchengladbach.

With Saturday’s Copa del Rey final, there was only one league fixture this weekend, as Barcelona lost 1-0 at home to Rayo Vallecano, effectively handing the title to Real Madrid, who are 15 points clear with five games to play with superior goal difference.

There were midweek games, with Real winning 3-1 at Osasuna, while Barcelona got past Real Sociedad 1-0. Atletico Madrid drew 0-0 with Granada to further slip in their top-four aspirations but Real Betis were unable to capitalise losing 1-0 at home to Elche. Betis went on to win the Copa del Rey on penalties over Valencia on Saturday.
