The English Premier League season is coming to a close so it’s time to use your final fantasy transfers wisely, so here’s Sports Pundit’s weekly round-up of it all to help you succeed.Suarez in? Liverpool resurgence>

Star Players

Luis SuarezLiverpool> – striker – 20.5m; 10 points Few fantasy coaches have bothered to get on the Uruguayan simply because of his January arrival at Anfield. But given Liverpool’s recent form under Kenny Dalglish perhaps it’s worth jumping on him with your final transfer late in the season. Suarez grabbed a goal and an assist in the Reds’ 3-0 win over Newcastle and is the real deal.

Dirk KuytLiverpool – striker – 20.3m; 10 points Another Red who picked up big points in Sunday’s 3-0 win over the Magpies, was Dutchman Kuyt who also grabbed a goal and an assist. Suarez won the penalty for his strike, while Kuyt played an incisive ball for the Uruguayan for his goal. Has been good value all season but surprisingly only owned by 1% of coaches.

Simon DaviesFulham – midfielder – 13.5m; 11 points Davies isn’t your typical fantasy superstar but his double in Fulham’s 3-0 dismantling of Sunderland on Saturday was useful. The Welshman, who is okay value at 13.5m, may have produced a better score had it not been for a yellow card but we’ll forgive him.

Disappointments

Wayne RooneyManchester United – striker – 22m; 0 points It had been expected United’s big gun would rise to the occasion on Sunday and deliver for the Red Devils when they needed it most against Arsenal. Instead he underwhelmed, copped a booking and United lost, blowing open the title race. Perhaps Rooney is beginning to tire with United’s Champions League commitments.

Didn't deliver in Gunners defeat>

Paul ScharnerWest Bromwich – defender – 4.8m; -1 point The Austrian defender has long been a fantasy favourite at Sports Pundit but his red card in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa had us shaking our heads. To be fair, Scharner is a bit different so perhaps we should’ve known what to expect but a minus score never helps.

Craig GardnerBirmingham City – midfielder – 12.6m; -2 points Another one of our fantasy favourites failed to deliver big-time this weekend in Brum’s draw with Wolverhampton. The cheap midfielder was sent off in the game after receiving two bookings, the second for diving. Normally a goalscoring midfielder, this wasn’t ideal.
