Maximiliano Ruben Rodriguez, better known as Maxi Rodriguez, is an established Argentina international currently playing for the English giants Liverpool. He plays as a winger.
Maxi is a product of Newell Old Boys’ youth academy and played for the Argentine giant for three seasons before moving to Spain on a permanent basis to Espanyol Barcelona in 2002.
Maxi became one of best players in Spain at Espanyol. He expressed his versatility to play either as a winger or as midfielder and was snapped by Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2005 for 7 million euros. He developed further at Atletico Madrid and was signed by Liverpool in 2010.
Maxi is an established Argentina international player and has been in the Argentine set-up since 2003. He played for Argentina in the 2005 Confederations Cup and also in the 2006 Germany World Cup. He won the 2001 World Youth Championship with the Argentina Under-20 team.
