Liverpool vs. QPR: Premier League Betting Preview

Despite Luis Suarez’s latest suspension, Liverpool have come good towards the end of the season and must surely finish the campaign with a win at Anfield.

Suarez’s astonishing bite on Chelsea’s Europa League hero, Branislav Ivanovic, has allowed other teammates to flourish in his absence and the Uruguayan has hardly been missed.

Liverpool are assured of finishing the season in seventh place in the Premier League and that is a satisfactory start, no more, for new manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Northern Irishman still has plenty of work to do on Merseyside before Liverpool are even considered serious challengers for a Champions League place but in Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge he has two youngsters of real promise and the future is bright.

The Reds have failed to deliver on countless occasions in recent times when fancied but their overall efforts this spring have been decent and their 6-0 thrashing of Newcastle at the end of last month is still fresh in the memory.

A goalless stalemate in the Merseyside derby followed but Everton are extremely tough to break down and Liverpool should find QPR much more to their liking.

It was Sturridge who was the star of the show at Craven Cottage on Sunday, scoring all three goals in the win over Fulham, and the former Chelsea striker must be licking his lips at the prospect of facing Rangers.

QPR will finish the season bottom of the pile should they succumb on Sunday and have been nothing short of a disgrace this term.

It is hard to recall a Premier League team displaying such an alarmingly lack of quality and Loic Remy’s arrest this week has hardly helped Rangers’ preparations.

Harry Redknapp’s team have won just four times all season in the top flight and their return to The Championship is thoroughly deserved.

At just 1.25 in the match odds market Liverpool make little appeal but they have given some mediocre sides some real hidings since the turn of the year and QPR would love to be described as that.
