Liverpool vs. Tottenham: Premier League Betting Preview

Amazing prices on offer at Anfield on Sunday and quite how Liverpool are odds on against Tottenham is anybody’s guess.

I don’t care if Liverpool claim all three points in the upcoming clash the correct play is definitely to be opposing the home team and their record against the top sides this season is abysmal.

Of course the Reds have improved of late, they impressed when thrashing Wigan 4-0 at the DW Stadium last time out, but Tottenham are among the Premier League’s most in-form, and talented, sides and a top-two finish for Andre Villas-Boas’s men is not out of the question.

Spurs all but secured a Champions League place for next season with victory over Arsenal in the North London derby last Sunday and couldn’t have been any more comfortable in victory than when thrashing Inter Milan 3-0 in the Europa League on Thursday.

Gareth Bale, who else, set them on their way in both fixtures and his battle against Luis Suarez for star man honours at Anfield will be fascinating.

Spurs arrive on Merseyside unbeaten in their last 12 top flight matches, winning eight of them, including their last four, and to have them and the draw on side at greater than evens is too good to turn down.

Equally suited on the road as they are at White Hart Lane, Spurs are the only side to triumph at champions elect Manchester United this term and are yet to lose on their travels in 2013.

Liverpool, in contrast, have struggled to break down teams with any hint of ability at Anfield and Swansea,Aston Villa and West Brom have all won at the famous stadium this season.

Add that trio of defeats to reversals at the hands of Arsenal and Manchester United back in September and Liverpool’s home record is disappointing at the very least.
