Gareth Frank Bale is a young Welsh international football player who currently features for the English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. He plays as a wingback and is one of the world’s best players.
Bale started his professional club career for the English southcoast side Southampton in 2005 and featured in 40 league matches, scoring 5 goals.
In the summer of 2007 Tottenham Hotspur signed Bale from Southampton for an initial payment of £5 million on a four-year deal. Bale made his competitive debut for Spurs in August in an away match against Manchester United in the Premier League. He scored 2 goals in 8 Premier League matches in 2007-2008.
Since then Bale has emerged as one of the best players in the world and a key component in Spurs’s ambition to establish themselves as a top-four club in the Premier League, making over 150 appearances in the process.
Bale made his international debut for Wales in May 2007 in a 2-1 win over Trinidad & Tobago and became the youngest ever player to play for Wales. He has scored 11 goals in 41 matches so far for Wales.
