Federer: My 'Great Year' Is Not Over Yet

Wimbledon champion Roger Federer believes there’s more for him to achieve this year as he aims for the end-of-season ATP World Tour Finals title.

Wimbledon champion Roger Federer believes there’s more for him to achieve this year as he aims for the end-of-season ATP World Tour Finals title.

Federer easily accounted for Serbia’s Janko Tipsarevic 6-3 6-1 on Tuesday and spoke to reporters in London after the match about his aims for the event.

“I’m very happy I played so well because Janko’s a great player,” Federer said.

“I’ve had a great year but I hope it’s not over yet. It’s my third trip to London this year. The other two were pretty good and I hope something similar is going to happen this week.”

Federer, who has won the end-of-season event six times, has won the past two ATP Tour Finals.

Elsewhere, David Ferrer defeated Juan Martin del Potro 6-3 3-6 6-4, with the Spaniard revealing his delight afterwards.

“I am very happy. It was a top match. It was very difficult to play against Juan Martin, but I hope the people enjoyed our tennis,” Ferrer said.
