Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says Tottenham star Gareth Bale was “born to play” for the Spanish giants.
The 2011-12 La Liga champions have been linked with Spurs’ Welsh attacker, who won the PFA Player of the Year, in recent days, with Perez fuelling the rumours.
“He is a very good player who plays at Tottenham, a team we must respect,” Perez told COPE.
“He is magnificent and was born to play for Real Madrid.”
Bale netted 21 goals during the 2012-13 Premier League season as Tottenham finished fifth.
