Chelsea beat West Ham to grab three crucial Premier League points on Sunday.

The London derby ends with Chelsea winning all three points and going up the English Premier League table to third spot, just four behind second placed Manchester City.

Demba Ba missed a sitter in the 6th minute after being put through by Frank Lampard. Lampard was in sublime for this game. He got his name on the score sheet but also missed a couple of chances that he would have pounced on, on another day.

Gary Cahill got a little niggle in the 15th minute but was able to carry on after some treatment. His injury will be assessed over the week and hopefully he should be fine. John Terry will most likely replace him in the starting line up for the subsequent fixtures.

Lampard slipped in a header scoring his 200th goal against his former team. Eden Hazard chipped the ball over the defence giving the veteran the chance to head the ball in which he did with utmost ease. What a season he is having netted 14 times already this season.

David Luiz went down easy in his own box while defending in the first half, after a tiny nudge from Andy Carroll who indecently won the ball inside the box and then slotted home, but the goal was disallowed. If that goal would have been given, the outcome of the game would have surely been different.

Chelsea added a second early in the second half with Eden Hazard on target putting the game far and beyond the reach of West Ham United. He marked his 50th appearance for the club with a sublime finish which was preceded by some jugglery by the Belgian International.

West Ham is sitting in 14th spot after this loss. They are six points clear of the drop zone and another 2 victories for West Ham should see them secure and safe to stay in the Premier League for one more season at least.
