Arsenal beat Reading in a high scoring game that ended 5-2 at the Madejski Stadium. Santi Cazorla stole the show with a brilliant hat-trick.

Podolski and Walcott scored on either side of Cazorla’s hat-trick.

Arsenal has pushed further up in the table and is sitting pretty in 5th spot.

Oxlade-Chamberlain made the Reading keeper Adam Federici make a fine save in the game but it was Podolski who scored the opener in the 14th minute itself.

After this Cazorla put the ball in the back of the net twice in just three minutes, sending the Gunners into the break with a 3-0 lead. He completed his hat-trick in the second half. Arsene Wenger went in into the tunnel with a big grin on his face.

Walcott who was declared fit to play this game scored late in the 80th minute to complete the jeer.

Reading’s A Le Fondre and J Kebe grabbed two consolation goals in the second half in a span of five minutes.

It seemed that Reading would make an unlikely comeback but were unable to do so. Overall it was a disappointing effort by the home team and as a result of the loss they are languishing at the bottom of the table six points off 17th spot.
