Santiago ‘Santi’ Cazorla Gonzalez is a Spain international football player currently playing for the English and European giants Arsenal. He is a left-sided attacking midfielder and his former team-mates at Recreativo de Huelva nicknamed him as “Ronaldinho”. Cazorla is rated as one of the best midfielders in the world.
Cazorla joined Villarreal in 2003 when he was 18 years of age and was always said to be hugely talented and highly talented. He was signed by Recreativo de Huelva in the summer of 2006 for 600,000 euros.
At Recre in the 2006-2007 season, Cazorla emerged as one of the best young players in Spain and was snapped up by Villarreal for 1.2 million euros at the start of the 2007-2008 season as was laid down in his contract. He developed as one of the best players for the Yellow Submarine, going on to score 23 goals in 127 league games and establishing himself as one of the best creative midfielders in the world.
In the summer of 2011 Cazorla was signed by Malaga for €21 million and after one successful season joined Arsenal, with the Andalucian club being paid £16.5 million.
Cazorla made his international debut for Spain in 2008 and won Euro 2008 with his nation. He missed the 2010 World Cup finals due to a hernia and won Euro 2012 with La Furia Roja.
