West Brom vs. West Ham: Premier League Betting Preview

It is three losses in a row now for West Bromwich Albion and I think they can be take on this weekend versus West Ham.

It is three losses in a row now for West Bromwich Albion and I think they can be take on this weekend versus West Ham.

Having started the season so magnificently, Baggies boss Steve Clarke has seen his side slide down the Premier League table in recent weeks and a win for Sunday’s visitors to The Hawthorns would draw them within one point of their hosts.

West Brom’s excellent start to the new campaign was down mainly to some terrific results on home soil, beating Liverpool and Chelsea among others, but Stoke left with all three points a fortnight ago and it is also 180 minutes without scoring.

The loss to Tony Pullis’ side was followed by defeat at Arsenal, Mikel Arteta’s penalties proving the difference in a 2-0 win for the Gunners, and West Ham will fancy their chances of leaving with at least a draw.

The Hammers, too, have been strong at home this season but their performances away from Upton Park have been pretty commendable and there was no disgrace in recent defeats at Old Trafford or White Hart Lane.

Victories on their travels at QPR and Newcastle showed that Sam Allardyce’s players can get the job down away from East London and they were a shade unlucky to lose out to Liverpool on Sunday in a five-goal thriller.

The loss of midfielder Mohamed Diame through injury is a blow for the Hammers, the Senegalese has been excellent all term, but Allardyce has a pretty deep squad to choose from these days and I think they’ll be able to cope.

At just even money, I certainly want the draw and West Ham onside in contrast to backing an out-of-sorts West Brom and it might not be the most entertaining fixture in the English top flight this weekend.
