Manchester United have already secured top spot in Champions League Group H but still represent value on Wednesday to beat CFR Cluj.
This year’s final round of group fixtures produced few games of real consequence with regards qualification for the knockout phase and the match at Old Trafford is no exception.
The Romanian visitors could yet pip Galatasaray to second spot in the section but they probably require a victory against the Premier League leaders to do so and that looks unlikely.
United strolled through to the last 16 with the ease anticipated following the draw in Monaco and while they lost in Turkey last time out it should be a different story on home soil.
The Red Devils, of course, have a huge clash with Manchester City on Sunday and the likelihood is that manager Sir Alex Ferguson will rest key players.
However, the United first team squad has plenty of strength in the depth these days, Wayne Rooney is also tipped to lead the line, and whichever side the Scot picks is predicted to be good enough to prevail.
United have had defensive concerns all term, highlighted once again in their 4-3 win at Reading on Saturday evening, but they are scoring goals for fun and the likes of Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck, if featuring, should cause Paulo Sergio’s side problems.
I’ve plenty of respect for Cluj but they are some way off the pace domestically, currently in sixth position, and have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their previous six away matches.
That run is unlikely to change in the north-west and, while there is every chance of them finding the net themselves, the 1.73 about a home win is too good to turn down.
United could well go off plenty shorter than that once the line-ups are announced.
2pts Back Man Utd (vs. Cluj) @ 1.73 (Bet Victor)
