Sweden coach Erik Hamren has heaped praise on four-goal striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and says his remarkable fourth goal in the 4-2 win over England is something you may not see again for a lifetime.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker was in sensational form in the triumph over England, however the won all the headlines after his spectacular fourth goal, coming from a volley after England keeper Joe Hart had come off his line before a headed clearance.

“I don’t know if you will see another like it in your life,” Hamren told reporters after the game.

“Sometimes, when he’s doing these things, in training or in matches, you don’t think it’s possible. Because it’s not possible to do that - the fourth goal, for example.”

Ibrahimovic himself recalled the strike, stating: “Hart was a long way out and I was just trying to get it into the goal. I was on the ground when it was on the way in. I saw a defender sliding in to try to get rid of it and I wanted to scream ‘No’ but the ball went in.”

Meanwhile, England manager Roy Hodgson and skipper Steven Gerrard were full of praise for the former AC Milan and Barcelona striker.

Gerrard said: “It is the best goal I have seen live. I think the best goal I have seen before that was Wayne Rooney’s (against Manchester City). Everyone knows how special that was but this one tonight – an overhead kick from 25 yards when the ball is six feet in the air – only certain players can do that. And he is a special player.”

Hodgson said: “The fourth goal was the crowning glory. It’s a wonderful goal to see on a football field, though I would rather have seen it against someone else.”
