Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has ruled out the Italian manufacturers making a move for Red Bull’s world champion Sebastian Vettel.
The German driver had been linked with a move to Ferrari from 2014 but di Montezemolo insisted the reports were false, stating Fernando Alonso would remain their main man.
“I’ve always said that I don’t want two roosters in the hen-house. I don’t like that and it creates instability in the team,” he told Italian radio.
He added: “I don’t want problems and rivalries, which we didn’t have between Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine, between Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello, between Alonso and Massa or Massa and Schumacher or Massa and Kimi Raikkonen.”
Felipe Massa has endured a disappointing 2012 season with Ferrari prompting talk of his departure.
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner added: ‘Sebastian Vettel, without a shadow of doubt, will be part of the Red Bull Racing team in 2014.”
