Munchi's are back in Rallying Business

Munchi’s Ford World Rally Team recently confirmed it participation in the 2009 FIA World Rally Championship, as a Manufacturer Team. Starting off with the Cyprus Rally, the team will end their run at the Rally Australia. Taking advantage of the revised FIA regulations, which allow single car teams to participate in the competition of they compete in at least 8 events, Munchi’s Ford World Rally team is the fifth team to register for the 2009 Manufacturer’s Championship.
Designated driver for the team, Federico Villagra, will be competing in all the eight events, with Jorge Perez Companc assisting him. Some additional drivers have also been considered to drive for some additional events. These drivers include, Henning Solberg, Barry Clark and Luis Perez Companc.
The current Argentine Rally champion, Villagra had competed in 10 WRC events last season, and had recorded a sixth finish as his highest, in both Jordan and Argentina. Using the Ford Focus RS WRC, run by M-Sport, this will be the third time that Munchi will be participating as a Manufacturer Team.
