The Hamburg Freezers is a professional ice hockey team that is a part of the Deutschen Eishockey Liga, or the German Ice Hockey League. The team is from Hamburg, and it is known as the only team in the DEL that is somewhat collaborated with the professional ice hockey league in the United States. Though the team has been active for a long time, it was actually formed in 1999 under the name Munich Barons. It was only able to adapt the team name Freezers in 2002.

The team is currently managed by Michael Path and coached by Benoit Laporte. The team’s team captain is Alexander Barta, and the players proudly wear the team colors, crystal blue and white.

Since the team is really new, they have not yet won a single German Cup, although they have reached the play-off semifinals in 2004. This has been the team’s biggest achievement so far.
