HV71 is an abbreviation of Huskvarna/Vatterstads IF which was founded in 1971. The club was promoted to Elitserien for the first time in 1979 but was relegated after one season, then came back in 1985 and made the semifinal. Ten years later they won their first championship and repeated this in 2004. The team plays in Kinnarps Arena.
