Brynäs IF, a prominent ice hockey club based in Gävle, Sweden, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1939. Originally established by Nils Norin, Ferdinand Blomkvist, and Thure Ternström in the early 20th century, Brynäs IF began its journey into ice hockey in 1939. The club enjoyed a lengthy run in the top tier of Swedish hockey, competing continuously from 1960 until 2023. This 63-season tenure is the longest in Swedish hockey history. However, the 2022-23 season marked a pivotal moment as the team faced relegation for the first time, moving to the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second tier of Swedish ice hockey.

Brynäs IF calls the Monitor ERP Arena their home, a venue that has witnessed countless memorable moments over the decades. The club has a storied record in Swedish ice hockey, having secured the Swedish championship title an impressive 13 times, with the most recent victory occurring in 2012. Community Engagement

Brynäs IF has also made strides in social responsibility, becoming the first ice hockey club in the world to partner with the United Nations Program UNICEF. This collaboration, which began in 2013, showcased the club's commitment to making a difference beyond the rink. Additionally, a unique agreement with Gävle Municipality allowed the arena to be renamed Gavlerinken Arena and featured ad-free jerseys for the team, further emphasizing their innovative approach to community relations and branding.
