Erik Karlsson

Erik Karlsson is a Swedish defenseman on the Ottawa Senators.

Karlsson was drafted by the Senators in 2008, after scoring 37 points with Frolunda’s junior club. He spent the next season playing in Sweden, but joined the Binghamton Senators in 2009. He played only 12 games in the AHL but recorded 11 assists while there and was called up to the NHL early in the season. He finished the year with 26 points in 60 games, and is regarded as one of the best prospects in the Senators’ organization.

Karlsson played for Sweden at the 2009 World Juniors and the 2010 World Championships.
