Brett Sterling
Brett Sterling is an American left winger on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Sterling was drafted in 2003 by the Atlanta Thrashers after scoring 38 points in his freshman year at Colorado College. He finished an impressive college hockey career with a couple of standout seasons in his junior and senior years. He was among the 3 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award in his junior year, after he scored 34 goals and 63 points. In 2006, he joined the Chicago Wolves in the AHL, and won the rookie of the year award with 55 goals and 97 points. He made the Thrashers out of training camp in 2007, but played just 13 games before being sent back to the AHL. He played the last two years in Chicago with the Wolves, and had a bounce back season in 2009-10, scoring 34 goals and 56 points. His contract expired in the 2010 offseason, and the Penguins signed him to a one year deal.
