Jarko Ruutu is a Finnish left winger for the Ottawa Senators.

Ruutu was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks after spending three seasons with HIFK of the Finnish SM-liiga. Ruutu played parts of 6 seasons with the Canucks, setting a career high of 82 games played in 2006-07. Ruutu has made a name for himself as one of the league's most notorious pests, adept at getting under the skin of opposing players. In 2006, Ruutu signed with Pittsburgh, where he has quickly become a fan favorite. He led the team in PIM with 125. Ruutu signed with the Senators during the 2008 offseason, and has had his best offensive season to date, recording 18 points and 126 penalty minutes thus far.

Jarko has represented Finland on the international stage five times, including at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Ruutu made headlines when he leveled Czech star Jaromir Jagr, and injured him. The Finns went on to win the silver medal.
