Dick Tarnstrom is a Swedish defenseman on AIK.

Tarnstrom was drafted by the New York Islanders in 1994, after playing 33 games in Division 1 with AIK. He then played 7 years in the Elitserien, scoring 20+ points in each of his last 3 seasons in Sweden, including a 10 goal, 28 point season in 2000-01. He scored 19 points in his rookie season with the Islanders in 2001-02, and signed with Pittsburgh in 2002. He had the best season of his career with the Penguins, scoring 52 points in 2003-04. He played a year with Sodertalje in the Elitserien during the lockout, and returned to Pittsburgh for another season in 2005-06. He played 2006-07 in Switzerland with Lugano, before returning to the NHL in 2007, splitting the season between Edmonton and Columbus. In 2008, he returned to his first professional team, signing with AIK and scoring 32 points in his first season back in Sweden.

Tarnstrom has played for Sweden at many different international competitions, including the 2004 World Cup, a number of World Championships and the 1994 and 1995 World Juniors. He won bronze medals in 1995 and 2009, silver medals in 1994, 2003 and 2004 and a gold medal at the 1993 U18 World Juniors.
