Magnus Akerlund

Magnus Akerlund is a Swedish goalie on Timra IK.

Akerlund was drafted by Carolina in 2004, but has remained in Sweden for the past five seasons. he began his career with HV71, playing mostly in the junior Swedish leagues from 2002 til 2007, making a number of appearances in the Elitserien, but never for more than 3 or 4 games.In 2007, he signed with Timra, where he has filled in mostly as the backup goalie. He has appeared in a career high 14 games during the 2009-10 season, posting a 3.17 GAA.

Akerlund was a member of Team Sweden at the 2006 World Juniors.
