Jyri Marttinen
Jyri Marttinen is a Finnish defenseman on Skelleftea AIK.
Marttinen was drafted in 2002 by the Calgary Flames after his first full season with JYP of the Finnish SM-liiga. He played the next five seasons with JYP, scoring a total of 83 points and recording 484 penalty minutes. He joined Malmo in the Elitserien in 2007, and began the ’07-08 season with Timra, but was transferred to Skelleftea after only 17 games. He scored 19 points in 2008-09, and was one of the main reasons Skelleftea had such a strong year and was able to make the playoffs.
Marttinen played for Finland at the 2002 World Juniors.
