Mikael Hakansson
Mikael Hakansson is a Swedish center on Linkopings HC.
Hakansson was drafted by Toronto in 1992, but never played in the NHL. He spent 8 more years playing in the Elitserien before even coming to the AHL. He played with Djurgardens IF from ’92-94, before signing with Modo Hockey for two seasons. He returned to Djurgardens for four more seasons, scoring 34 points in ’99-00. He joined Toronto’s minor league club in St. John’s in 2000, scoring 50 points in 64 games, before returning to Sweden for good. He spent more season with Djurgardens, where he recorded his career high of 37 points and 86 penalty minutes. He signed with Linkoping in 2002, and has played with the club ever since. He had his best season with the club in 2008-09, recording 25 assists and 35 points.
