Magnus Johansson
Magnus Johansson is a Swedish defenseman on Linkoping HC.
Johansson is a fan favorite in Linkoping, as he played his junior hockey with his hometown club and made his professional debut with the team. At the time, the club was not in the Elitserien, and Johansson was signed by Frolunda HC in 1997. He spent 6 years with the team, scoring a career high 14 goals and 35 points in 2001-02. He won a league title with Frolunda in 2003, and spent the next year playing in Switzerland. He returned to Linkoping in 2004, and spent three seasons as team captain. He led the team to the Elitserien playoffs in three straight seasons, besting his point totals with a 36 point season in 2006-07. He spent 2007-08 in the NHL, playing with Chicago and Florida, recording 14 points in 45 games. He played the 2008-09 season in Russia, but returned to Linkoping in 2009, where he was again named team captain. He holds all the single season offensive records for defenseman on Linkopings, as well as the record for points by a defenseman on Frolunda.
Johansson played for Sweden at 6 different World Championships, winning bronze in 2002, silver in 2003 and gold in 2006.
