Alex Pietrangelo

Alex Pietrangelo is a Canadian defenseman on the St. Louis Blues.

Pietrangelo was drafted by the Blues 4th overall in 2008, after being ranked one of the top defensive prospects in the world. He had played the previous two seasons in the OHL, scoring 105 points for the Mississauga/Niagara Ice Dogs. He started the 2008 season in the NHL with the Blues, but was checked from behind by cheapshot artist Ryan Hollweg in one of his first games and suffered a head injury. He was sent back to the OHL, where he finished the season. In 2009, he rejoined the Blues as part of their permanent roster.
