Scott Nichol is a Canadian center on the San Jose Sharks.
Nichol was drafted in 1993 by the Buffalo Sabres, while playing in the WHL. He scored 93 points and 144 penalty minutes for the Portland Winter Hawks the following season, and was called up to the AHL. Nichol appeared in 5 games for the Sabres between 1995 and 1998, and spent the next few seasons in the minors. In 2001, he came back to the NHL with the Calgary Flames. In two seasons with the Flames, he had 27 points and 256 penalty minutes. He spent 2003-04 with Chicago, and played in England during the NHL lockout. In 2005, he signed with the Nashville Predators, where he earned a reputation as a dirty player for a couple of incidents which earned him suspensions. In 2006, he sucker punched Jaroslav Spacek in response to what Nichol thought was a dirty hit. Through 2009, Nichol recorded only 92 points and 686 penalty minutes. In 2009, Nichol signed with the San Jose Sharks.
