Matt Gilroy is an American defenseman on the New York Rangers.
Gilroy was undrafted, but played four years of college hockeyat Boston University. He scored over twenty points in his final three seasons at BU, including 37 points in his senior year. He won the Hobey Baker Award in 2008-09, and was quickly signed by the New York Rangers. With the Rangers, Gilroy made the team’s starting roster in 2009, and has joined their group of strong young talents on the blueline.
