Matthew Halischuk
Matt Halischuk is a Canadian winger on the Nashville Predators.
Halischuk was drafted by the Devils in 2008, after scoring 66 points for the Kitchener Rangers in the OHL in 2006-07, and 59 points the following season. He joined the Devils’ minor league organization in 2008, scoring 29 points in the AHL that season. He recorded an assist in his only NHL game that season in October of 2008, against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He made the Devils’ full time roster for the 2009-10 season. He played in 20 games for the Devils in 2009-10, scoring 1 goal and 2 points, while seeing very limited ice time. During the 2010 offseason, he was acquired by the Predators, and he'll be expected to compete for one of the spots opened by the departure of some of the Preds' other d-men, including Dan Hamhuis.
Halischuk won a gold medal with Team Canada in 2008, scoring the tournament winning goal in overtime of the gold medal game.
