Nicklas Bergfors is a Swedish winger on the Atlanta Thrashers.

Bergfors was drafted by the Devils, 23rd overall in 2005, after playing a year in the Elitserien with Sodertalje SK. He then spent four years in the Devils’ minor league system, scoring 51 points in 2008-09 with the Lowell Devils. He played in one game for the Devils in 2007-08, and appeared in 8 games in 2008-09, scoring his first NHL goal that season. He made the Devils’ permanent roster for the first time in 2009-10, and scored 13 goals and 27 points in 54 games before being traded to Atlanta as part of the deal that sent Ilya Kovalchuk to the Devils. He scored 17 points in the last 27 games of the year, and will be expected to develop into a top line forward to justify the Kovalchuk deal.
