Tomi Kallio
Tomi Kallio is a Finnish winger on Frolunda HC.
Kallio has played professional hockey since 1995, when he first played for TPS. He was also drafted by Colorado that season. In 1999 and 2000, his team won the league championship, and he scored a career high 53 points in ’99-00. In 2000, he joined the Atlanta Thrashers, where he played the next two seasons. He scored 27 goals his rookie year, but his production declined each year after that. He was traded to Columbus in 2002, but played only 12 games before being picked up by Philadelphia. He played 7 games with the Flyers before returning to Sweden to play with Frolunda. He was much more successful in the Elitserien, scoring a career high 54 points in 2006-07, while accumulating 103 penalty minutes. He also won two more league championships, in 2003 and 2005.
Kallio has played for Finland at a number of competitions, winning silver medals at the ’99, ’01 and ’07 World Championships and bronze medals at the 2000 and ’06 tournaments. He was also a member of the 2002 Olympic squad.
