Andreas Holmqvist

Andreas Holmqvist is a Swedish defenseman on Djurgardens IF.

Holmqvist has played professional hockey since 2000, when he was a member of Hammarby IF. He joined Linkopings in 2002, after he was drafted by Tampa Bay in 2001. He spent three seasons with Linkopings, setting a career high with 7 goals and 28 points in 2006-07. In 2003-04, he played in the AHL, but was never able to make the NHL. In 2007, he joined Frolunda HC, where he had another productive season in 2007-08, scoring 26 points. He played only 7 games with Frolunda in 2008-09, and was traded to Djurgardens IF, where he scored 16 points in 34 games.
