Calvin de Haan

Calvin de Haan is a Canadian defenseman on the New York Islanders.

De Haan was drafted 12th overall by New York in 2009, after the Islanders traded up to get him. He played his junior hockey with the Oshawa Generals, where he scored 8 goals and 63 points in his rookie season in 2008-09. Much like Ryan Ellis of the Nashville Predators, de Haan is a relatively small defenseman, but makes up for his lack of size with a strong offensive skill set.
