Jared Cowen

Jared Cowen is a Canadian defenseman on the Ottawa Senators.

Cowen was drafted by Ottawa with the 9th overall pick in 2009. He played his junior hockey with the Spokane Chiefs, recording 18 points and 62 penalty minutes in his rookie year. He played only 48 games the following season due to injury, but was still so impressive that he maintained his high draft status.

Cowen played for Team Canada at the 2008 U-17 Championships, winning a bronze medal, as well as a gold medal at the 2008 Hlinka Tournament.
