Dean McAmmond
Dean McAmmond is a Canadian center on the New Jersey Devils.
McAmmond was drafted in the 1st round of the 1991 draft by Chicago. In 1993, he was traded to Edmonton, where he would play the next 6 seasons. After scoring 50 points in ’97-98, McAmmond was traded to Chicago the following season at the trade deadline. In 2001, he was traded to Philadelphia for a brief ten-game stint after the trade deadline of that season. He had another fifty point season the following year with Calgary, setting a career high with 21 goals. The following season he was traded to Colorado, where he had a disappointing season, scoring only 18 points in 41 games. He returned to Calgary for another year, scoring 30 points After the lockout, McAmmond signed with St. Louis, where he played 78 games and scored 37 points. The following year, he signed with Ottawa, where he played the next three seasons. He was traded to the Islanders after scoring only 7 points in his first 44 games of the ’08-09 season and finished with 9 points in 18 games for the Isles. In 2009, he signed with the New Jersey Devils, where he put up 8 goals and 17 points in 62 games, helping the Devils win the Atlantic Division and reach the playoffs only to be ousted in a first round upset by the Philadelphia Flyers. McAmmond remained with the Devils for the 2010-11 season.
