Steve Eminger
Steve Eminger is a Canadian defenseman on the New York Rangers.
Eminger was drafted 12th overall in 2002 by the Washington Capitals, after scoring 58 points for the Kitchener Rangers in the OHL. He joined the Capitals for 17 games in 2002-03, but did not earn a regular roster spot until after the lockout. In 2008, Eminger signed with Philadelphia, but was traded to Tampa Bay after only 12 games. He scored 23 points over 50 games with the Lightning, but was traded to Florida at the trade deadline. Eminger would play the last 9 games of the season with the Panthers before being signed by Anaheim as an unrestricted free agent in the 2009 offseason. Eminger was added to help replace veteran Chris Pronger, who was traded to Philadelphia, but he played only one season in Anaheim before being traded again. He scored 16 points in 63 games for the Ducks before being dealt to the Rangers during the 2010 offseason. Eminger will be expected to help provide veteran depth to one of the best young blueline corps in the league.
Eminger played for Canada at the 2003 World Juniors, winning a silver medal.
