Richard Petiot is a Canadian defenseman in the Edmonton Oilers’ organization.
Petiot was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 2001, and went on to play college hockey at Colorado College. He played 2 games with the Kings in 2005, but would not play in the NHL again until being traded to Tampa Bay at the 2009 trade deadline. Since the trade, he received decent ice time with the Lightning, playing 11 games with the club before the end of the season and recording 3 assists and 21 penalty minutes. Petiot spent 2009-10 in the AHL while contracted to Chicago, and signed with Edmonton in 2010.
