David Koci

David Koci is a Czech defenseman on the Colorado Avalanche.

Koci was drafted by Pittsburgh in 2000, but did not break into the league until 2006 with Chicago. Over the past three seasons, he has played in less than 65 games, but has racked up 297 penalty minutes. Koci broke into the league with Chicago in 2006, where he played in 27 games over 2 seasons, racking up 156 penalty minutes with the Hawks. He signed with Tampa Bay and played 33 games with the Lightning, accumulating 132 penalty minutes. He also played 4 games with St. Louis that season, after being claimed off waivers from Tampa Bay. The Lightning picked him up off waivers shortly afterwards. He signed with Colorado in the 2009 offseason.
