Frantisek Kaberle is a Czech defenseman on the Carolina Hurricanes.
Kaberle was drafted by Los Angeles in 1999, after playing a number of seasons with HC Kladno and MODO Hockey in the Czech Extraliga and Swedish Elitserien. He came to Los Angeles in 1999, but was traded to Atlanta midway through his rookie season. He returned to his two former clubs during the NHL lockout in 2004-05, and signed with Carolina on his return. He had the best season of his career in 2005-06, recording 38 assists and 44 points, helping the Canes win the Stanley Cup.
Kaberle has played for the Czech Republic at a number of international competitions, winning 5 gold medals at different World Hockey Championships, and a bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
