Matt Cullen
Matt Cullen is an American center on the Minnesota Wild.
Cullen was drafted by Anaheim in 1996, while playing college hockey at St. Cloud State. He broke into the league with Anaheim in 1997, scoring 27 points his rookie season. He continued to improve over the next few seasons, posting 48 points the season before being traded to Florida. He played 2 seasons with the Panthers before the lockout, and signed with Carolina in 2005. He set a career high with 25 goals and 49 points that season, on the way to winning his first Stanley Cup. He signed with the New York Rangers for 2006-07, but was traded back to Carolina in 2007, where he recorded 36 assists to match his career high point total of 49. Cullen spent three more seasons in Carolina before being traded to Ottawa at the trade deadline. He scored 8 points for the Senators in the last 21 games of the season, and helped the Sens play a tough playoff series against the defending Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins. He signed with Minnesota during the 2010 offseason.
Cullen has played for the United States at 5 international tournaments, winning a bronze medal at the 2004 World Championships.
