Sean O'Donnell
Sean O’Donnell is a Canadian defenseman on the Philadelphia Flyers.
O’Donnell was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 1991, but by the time he broke into the league in ’94, he had been traded to Los Angeles. He spent 6 seasons in LA, before he was picked up by the Minnesota Wild in 2001. He was named the team’s first captain, before being traded at the trade deadline, to New Jersey. He played only 17 games with the Devils before signing with Boston, where he would play until the lockout. His best statistical season came in 2001-02, when he finished with 22 assists and 25 points. He signed with Phoenix after the lockout, but was traded to Anaheim in 2006, where he won the Stanley Cup the following year. He was traded to LA again in 2008. O’Donnell is a very physical defenseman, and has over 100 penalty minutes in 8 of his full NHL seasons. He helped the Kings reach the playoffs in 2010, recording 15 points and a +14 rating during the regular season. In the 2010 offseason, he was signed by the Philadelphia Flyers.
