Stephane Yelle is a Canadian center on the Colorado Avalanche.
Yelle was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 1992, but was traded to Quebec in 1994. By the time he joined the club, they had moved to Colorado, and Yelle became one of the key components of an Avalanche team that won 2 Stanley Cups in ’96 and 2001. He was traded to Calgary in 2002, and spent 5 seasons with the Flames before signing with Boston in 2008. Yelle’s best statistical season was actually his rookie year, when he scored 13 goals and 27 points. In ‘08-09, Yelle scored 18 points in 77 games, helping the Bruins finish 1st in the Eastern Conference. Yelle signed with Carolina in the 2009 offseason. He played 59 games with the Hurricanes, scoring 7 points before being traded to the Avalanche as they geared up for the playoffs. He remained with the club for the 2010-11 season.
