Martins Karsums
Martins Karsums is a Latvian winger on Dinamo Riga.
Karsums was drafted by the Bruins in 2004, after acouple of impressive showings at different international tournaments. He has spent most of his junior playing in Latvia and in the QMJHL, but finally earned himself an NHL call-up midway through the ’08-09 season. He was traded to Tampa Bay at the trade deadline, as part of the deal that sent Mark Recchi to Boston. He played in 18 games for the Lightning and scored 5 points for the club. He started the 2009-10 season in the AHL, but was loaned to Dinamo Riga midway through the year. He remained with Riga for the 2010-11 season.
Karsums played at 4 World Junior Championships for Latvia, as well as the World Championships and qualifiers for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
