Paul Mara
Paul Mara is an American defenseman on the Montreal Canadiens.
Mara was drafted 7th overall in 1997 by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Mara joined the Lightning for 1 game in 1999, and spent parts of the next two seasons with Tampa Bay before being traded to Phoenix in 2001. He played with Phoenix for 5 years, including a final season with the Coyotes in 2005-06, when he set career highs with 15 goals and 47 points. He was traded to Boston in 2006, and spent only one season with the Bruins before being traded to New York at the 2007 trade deadline. Mara spent the next two seasons with the Rangers, scoring 5 goals and 21 points along with 94 penalty minutes in the 2008-09 season. He was signed by Montreal in the 2009 offseason.
