Ruslan Salei is a Belarusian defenseman on the Detroit Red Wings.

Salei was drafted by Anaheim, 9th overall, in 1996. He joined them that same season, spending the next ten years in Anaheim. He currently holds the franchise record for games played by a defenseman. He signed with the Florida Panthers in 2006, and had his best statistical season in 2006-07, scoring 32 points. He was traded to Colorado at the 2008 trade deadline. In 2008-09, Salei had 21 points for the Avs in 70 games, but was limited to just 14 games the following year. With the Avs' surprising success in his absence, Salei was allowed to walk as a free agent at season's end, and he signed with Detroit during the 2010 offseason.

Salei has played for Belarus at more than 11 different international competitions.
