Craig Rivet is a Canadian defenseman on the Buffalo Sabres.

Rivet was originally drafted in 1992 by the Montreal Canadiens, where he has spent most of his 13 year professional career. Rivet split time between the Canadiens and their AHL affiliate for three seasons before making the permanent roster in 1997. Since then, he has developed into a very dependable defenseman. He returned to the Canadiens for one more season after the lockout, and recorded 34 points, his highest total in a Montreal uniform. The following season, after being traded to San Jose, Rivet had his best offensive season, with 5 goals, 30 assists and 35 points. Rivet was traded to Buffalo during the 2008 offseason.

Rivet has played for Team Canada once, at the 2003 World Championships, where he won a gold medal.
