Garnet Exelby is a Canadian defenseman on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Exelby was drafted by Atlanta in 1999, and went on to play a few more seasons of minor hockey before joining the Thrashers in 2002. Exelby is a very physical defenseman, and in 6 seasons with Atlanta, accumulated only 40 points in 357 games, but had 511 penalty minutes. Exelby was traded to Toronto in 2009, as the Leafs attempted to build a much more physical team.
