Colby Armstrong

Colby Armstrong is a former professional hockey player in the National Hockey League. He has played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Atlanta Thrashers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, and Vaxjo Lakers HC.

After his professional career, he started working as an NHL Analyst for Sportsnet.

Colby Joseph Armstrong was born on November 23, 1982, in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Canada. He stands 191 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 88 kg. He played right wing and he shoots right-handed.

His younger brother Riley Armstrong also played hockey professionally.

Career

He joined the NFL in 2001 as the 21st overall pick by the Pittsburgh Penguins. They assigned him to play for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the start of the 2002-2003 season. He did not make his NHL debut until the 2005-2006 season.

In 2008, he was traded to the Atlanta Thrashers. Then in July 2010, he joined the Toronto Maple Leafs. In July 2012, he signed to play with the Montreal Canadiens. Then before he retired, he played for the European team – the Vaxjo Lakers HC.
